Introduced
ORIGIN: Pitt Island, Chatham islands.
BREED DESCRIPTION: Almost all are coloured and have a self shedding fleece, the rams also have very impressive horns.
USE IN NEW ZEALAND: Preservation of the breed.
GENERAL: In the early 1980’s a reserve was created for the Pitt Island sheep and a number of flocks can now be found on the mainland of New Zealand.
