INTRODUCED 

ORIGIN: Australia 

HABITAT: Cockatiels live in a range of different areas but do not like thick forests. They will always stay close to a water supply. 

BREEDING: 4-7 eggs are laid and incubated by the female for 21 days. Occasionally the male will help with the incubation process. 

FOOD: Seed, grains and vegetation. 

GENERAL: Males have brighter colours than females. Both sexes have a crest of long spiky feathers on their head. There are now many colour combinations from grey to white.
