First N.I. Brown kiwi egg 2007

Issue Date: 5 July 2007

Our North Island Brown Kiwi breeding pair called Matt and Sliver have laid their first egg for the 2007 season. The eg was removed after 30 days and placed in an incubator. The staff have candled the egg for the first time and have observed that is a healthy and viable egg.
A letter of thanks has been received by the Otanewainuku Kiwi Trust who received two of the chicks that were produced from Matt and Silver. They have reported that both kiwis are doing well and have explored their new territory thoroughly.
