Hannah the GSK wild chick

Earlier on in the year year received a wild chick from Arthur's Pass. It had been decided to remove her from the wild to prevent any predation. Hannah remained at our facilities until she reached a weight and size which would help her should she come across any predators. On the first weekend of June 08 she was returned back to the area where she was first taken from. Hannah was monitored that night and following day and although her mother came to investigate there was no signs of aggression. Hannah has now been back in the wild for a week and will be monitored regularly to make sure she is getting enough food and maintaining her weight.
